Mathlete costume4/12/2023 ![]() ![]() “Characters” was the theme for Thursday and students got creative with costumes from Disney characters, “Harry Potter,” “Mean Girls,” and “Spiderman”! Allie Burke ‘20 and Molly Wheet ’20, dressing as Sully and Boo from Monsters, Inc., tied with Brendan Brady ’19 who came as the purple Teletubby!įriday was SJP Spirit Day, so students wore all their best Saint Joseph Prep gear. To culminate a week chock full of activities, Friday ended with the Spring Pep Rally. The seniors, who wore their personalized baseball-style shirts, were welcomed into the gym with cheers and applause as Matt Muldowney ’17 broke through the “Seniors” banner.Īs the pep rally was about to begin, Student Council co-moderator, Ms. Faherty, flew onto the court dressed in his homemade wings, a wig, face-paint, and a brand new SJP flag! Griffith, said the Pep Rally’s usual MC was nowhere to be found. The pep rally continued with games including Hula-hoop Tic-Tac-Toe, a relay race between Spring Sports teams, (dominated, appropriately enough, by the Track and Field team), and dodgeball. New faculty and staff got in on the fun with a Seniors vs. Faculty trivia challenge, answering questions about SJP’s administration. The seniors won by a landslide, proving that they have learned a lot about the administration over the past four years. To close out the event, Juniors presented Seniors with handwritten goodbye notes, a “thank you” message from the Student Council President, Sharon King ’17, and Vice President, Hannah Burke ’17, and some parting words on behalf of the SJP community from Mr. Faherty before the seniors walked out of the gym to a standing ovation from our community. Special thanks go out to the entire Student Council for making this a Spirit Week to remember! With Sharon and Hannah graduating, we’re excited to see which juniors will take their place as community leaders next year. Finally, if you missed our “Facebook Live” video from the Pep Rally, check it out on our Facebook live post.Alcohol The best idea to bring the true spirit of a Mathletes and Athletes party is to try and make the drinks match the theme everyone is dressing up as. The best way to do this is to find one of those big orange water coolers and fill it up with Jungle Juice. From this cooler all your guests can "re-hydrate" themselves just like the athletes do. If the party becomes a wild success maybe even someone will dump the cooler all over the party host, aka the coach of the party. What to Wear? For this theme party figuring out what to wear is rather quiet simple. Either align yourself as a Mathlete or an Athlete. Dressing up either way can be a lot of fun! As a guy if you're looking to give everyone a few good laughs then by going all out as a Mathlete will serve you well. As a girl you can make either costume have a sexy flare to it. Guys As a guy what you need to decide is if you want to poke fun at yourself by dressing as a Mathlete or if you want to bro it out dressed as an Athlete. If you decide to dress like a Mathlete a cliche nerd costume is the way to go. ![]() Wear glasses, a pocket protector, pants up to your belly button and a plaid shirt. ![]() When dressing as an Athlete you have a number of different options. You could pull out one of your jerseys from your closet. A football jersey is probably the most common but old jerseys from when you used to play either soccer, track, basketball or tennis will all work as well. Your last option for guys is to dress how the spoiled ivy league university athletes dress when they are off the field. ![]()
